Worker Sacked After Threats Caught On Camera
Contractor ordered off project. Council issues apology.
When a cyclist attempted to navigate a shared path on Smyth Road in Nedlands, they found it blocked by illegally parked traffic management vehicles. What followed was a disturbing confrontation, one that was all caught on the Fly12 Sport bike camera and later uploaded to UpRide.cc
The result? Immediate action.
In an article published by POST Newspaper, LGC Traffic Management operations manager Daryl McCormick confirmed:
“He is no longer in our employment.” He went on to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation, stating the incident had “dire consequences for the Midland-based business.”
The City of Nedlands acted swiftly, instructing the contractor to remove the company from the project. According to The Post, the council cited “inappropriate behaviour and safety concerns”, and issued a formal apology.

Why Recording Matters
It's hard to believe some of the crazy behaviour that happens on the road, the best defence is crystal clear video that leaves no room for debate.
You know the type. “I’m sure they wouldn’t have done that” or “No-one would be that stupid” … except, unfortunately, we know different.
As well as stopping another ‘he-said, she-said’ defence dead in its tracks, having video evidence helps everyone understand the how and why of those “what-the-hell-just-happened” moments.
When things go wrong, video gives you the power to show exactly what happened. And when drivers know they might be recorded, they’re more likely to think twice before making a dangerous choice.
Feel safe. Record your ride. With the dashcam engineered for cyclists.
