Cyclists Hit From Behind By Range Rover - Caught on Camera

After too many close calls on the road, one cyclist never rides without both a front and rear-facing camera - and his footage proved critical after a recent crash in Monterey.

“There are just too many incidents with drivers. Cameras are non-negotiable for me.”

He was hit by a motorist and reported the incident to police - but despite having video evidence, the official report was full of errors.

“The Monterey PD did a poor job recapping the incident, even with the footage.”

Fortunately, the camera footage still helped hold the driver accountable. The motorist was prosecuted for following too closely and causing the crash.

The rider says he feels most vulnerable when there’s little to no road shoulder - and believes more needs to be done to protect cyclists.

“There should be harsher fines and jail time for drivers who intentionally hit or force riders off the road.”

Why Recording Matters

It's hard to believe some of the crazy behaviour that happens on the road, the best defence is crystal clear video that leaves no room for debate.

You know the type. “I’m sure they wouldn’t have done that” or “No-one would be that stupid” … except, unfortunately, we know different.

As well as stopping another ‘he-said, she-said’ defence dead in its tracks, having video evidence helps everyone understand the how and why of those “what-the-hell-just-happened” moments.

When things go wrong, video gives you the power to show exactly what happened. And when drivers know they might be recorded, they’re more likely to think twice before making a dangerous choice.
Feel safe. Record your ride. With the dashcam engineered for cyclists.
